BraiinsOS Support and Model Filters

The Foreman dashboard has been updated with the following new features and improvements:

New Features

  • Official support for BraiinsOS and BraiinsOS+ has been added. Full statistics for miners running these firmware will now be displayed, and they may now be remotely rebooted or their pools changed directly from the Foreman dashboard. This requires Pickaxe version ≥ 3.9.0 (Linux users are auto-upgraded, Windows users click ‘Upgrade’ here).
  • A new filter by miner type has been added, which users can apply to analyze a subset of their miners (example: show my dashboard, but only include my Antminer E3s in the calculations).
  • Miners may now be moved between Pickaxes via a Bulk Edit on the miners page.

Bug Fixes

  • A bug with Antminer type detection has been addressed, which caused the first model to get selected by prefix rather than the most accurate (example: previously ‘Antminer S19’ would get selected over ‘Antminer S19 Pro’). See Bulk Importing ASICs for how to perform a bulk ASIC import.

ASIC Pool Changing Improvements

The Foreman dashboard has been updated with the following new features and improvements:

New Features

  • ASIC pool changing will now only display ‘Completed’ after the device has fully rebooted and is mining again. Additionally, the dashboard will now immediately mark the miner as rebooted. This requires Pickaxe version ≥ 3.8.0 (Linux users are auto-upgraded, Windows users click ‘Upgrade’ here).

Bug Fixes

  • Disable Apache HTTP automatic retries in Pickaxe.

ASIC Rebooting Improvements

The Foreman dashboard has been updated with the following new features and improvements:

New Features

  • ASIC reboots will now only display ‘Completed’ after the device has fully rebooted and is mining again. Additionally, the dashboard will now immediately mark the miner as rebooted. This requires Pickaxe version ≥ 3.7.0 (Linux users are auto-upgraded, Windows users click ‘Upgrade’ here).
  • Added timestamps and sorting by date to the command status window.
  • Obfuscated miner management passwords in miner settings (revealed on hover).

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed mobile view of the command status window.

ASIC Rebooting and Bug Fixes

The Foreman dashboard has been updated with the following new features and improvements:

New Features

  • Implemented the ability to perform a remote reboot of ASICs from the Foreman dashboard! See this tutorial on how it works (note: you will need to upgrade your Pickaxe to 3.5.0 or later —click ‘Upgrade’ on your Pickaxe here):
  • Added ‘Change Pools’ and ‘Reboot’ actions to the miner actions list:
  • Added the ability to perform bulk imports of Antminer S17, Antminer S17+, and StrongU STU-2 devices.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a styling issue with the ‘MRR Rentals’ block that caused it to expand over other blocks.

BitTube hard fork at block #654000

BitTube is set to fork on July 29th, moving to a brand new Proof-of-Work algorithm. This migration to tube4 brings the following changes:

  • Max supply reduction: 600 million (from 1 billion)
  • Emission reduction
  • Faster block times: 15 seconds (from 120 seconds)
  • Faster daemon synchronization and wallet scanning
  • Continues to favor GPU mining
  • Proof-of-Work algorithm changed: Cuckaroo29b
  • Initial circulating supply: 272 million
  • Initial block reward: 19 TUBEs
  • Miner reward: 50% of block reward
  • AirTime reward: 50% of block reward
  • AirTime reward is distributed every 240 blocks (60 minutes)

What does this mean?

Prior to the fork taking place, miners will need to update their software to support the new Cuckaroo29b PoW algorithm.

At this point, the following mining software is available that supports the change:

  • gminer (at least version 2.16)

Additionally, the following partnered Foreman pools have been updated and are ready for the fork:

How do I prepare?

Download either of the software mentioned above and begin mining with it prior to the fork. Additionally, verify that the pool you’re using is ready for the fork. If you’re in doubt, use one of the pools mentioned above.

Monitoring

By running an updated version of gminer, your devices will automatically update in Foreman and you will experience no monitoring downtime.

Haven hard fork at block #640640

Haven’s Apollo v1.0.0 is set to fork on July 20th at block height 640640, which is expected to occur at roughly 15:00 GMT+1. This will trigger the launch of xUSD.

What does this mean?

Prior to the fork taking place, miners will need to update their software to support the new pricing_record struct, which is required to be present in the block_header (the block size for a block_header has increased significantly).

At this point, the following mining software is available that supports the change:

  • srbminer (at least version 1.9.4)
  • xmrig (at least version 6.3.0)

TeamRedMiner currently has not been updated to support the fork. That work, however, has been started.

How do I prepare?

Download either of the software mentioned above and begin mining with it prior to the fork.

Monitoring

By running an updated version of either srbminer or xmrig, your devices will automatically update in Foreman and you will experience no monitoring downtime.

GRIN hard fork at block #786240

Within the next day, a GRIN hard fork will occur at block 786,240. The algorithm will change from Cuckaroom29 to Cuckarooz29.

What does this mean?

When the fork takes place, miners will need to update their software to versions that support Cuckarooz29.

At this point, the following mining software is available that supports the new algorithm:

  • bminer (at least version 16.2.8)
  • gminer (at least version 2.17)

The following pools and services are prepared for the fork:

How do I prepare?

  • Download either of the software mentioned above
  • Verify that the pools that you’re using are prepared for the transition

Monitoring

By running an updated version of either bminer or gminer, your devices will automatically update in Foreman and you will experience no monitoring downtime.

Additionally, the Cuckarooz29 algorithm has been added and NiceHash (hk, eu, in, usa, br, and jp regions) and MiningRigRentals profitability will continue to be updated and displayed throughout the fork.
